Medium physical demand trekking tour in El Chalten in which you will visit Laguna Torre located at the base of Cerro Torre, departing and returning to El Calafate or El Chalten on the same day and always accompanied by a mountain guide. This tour is aimed at those people who are in good physical condition and who seek to discover a Patagonian mountain landscape while traveling an 18 km trekking path for a total of 6 hours with spectacular views of the surrounding hills.

If you book the tour with transfer from your hotel in El Calafate, we will pick you up at 7:00 a.m. to head towards the mythical Route 40 in direction of El Chaltén. This route arrives at an old hotel called Parador La Leona. From there, we continue bordering Lake Viedma, with the Andes Mountains in the background, until we reach the city of El Chaltén after 3 hours and 220 km travel.

Once in the mountain village, those passengers who book the excursion from El Chalten will be added to the group to start the trekking, taking the path to Laguna Torre. The first part is a 200 meters ascent on a friendly slope to, then, follow the course of the Fitz Roy River Canyon and the Margarita Waterfall. After the first hour and 2.5 km trekking, you will arrive at the Cerro Torre Viewpoint, where you will enjoy a break contemplating the panoramic view of the granite massifs of Mount Fitz Roy and the emblematic Cerro Torre, with its different glaciers and scenery of famous world mountaineering stories, as well as movies.

The second part of the trek will take 2 hours and 6.5 km, with almost no difference in altitude, immersed in the forest and with the possibility of seeing a great variety of birds, until you get to Laguna Torre. You will have lunch in a unique environment with icebergs coming from the Torre Glacier and the Torre, Egger, Adela, Solo and Standhardt mountains, completing one of the most beautiful landscapes in Patagonia. The return will be along the same path to El Chalten.

Upon arrival at the mountain town, the vehicle will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in El Calafate where you will arrive at about 8:00 p.m.
